Valencia & Antelope Valley Allergy & Asthma Center
The Role of an Allergist
by H. Farhadian. M.D., F.A.A.P.

Allergists are sub-specialized medical doctors that are trained to treat allergic diseases, immunologic disorders and asthma. All qualified allergists are first trained in pediatrics or internal medicine prior to studying the sub-speciality of allergy. The training period takes two to three additional years.

In order to locate the cause of the problem, allergists have to perform special tests. Allergists, by their knowledge and experience, are able to find the cause of an allergy in most instances. As a result, proper treatment can be implemented.

A study has shown that when patients are referred to an allergist, there is a 50 percent reduction in night-time asthma and 65 percent reduction in emergency room asthma visits.

Valencia Allergy and Asthma Center is unique in that it has accomplished these goals for several years. The Center was founded 18 years ago under the direction of H. Farhadian, M.D., and a dedicated professional staff.

At the Valencia Allergy and Asthma Center, asthma and allergic diseases are routinely diagnosed and treated via the latest methods and state-of-the-art equipment.
